I've been building fantasy worlds since at least age fourteen or fifteen. I just can't help coming up with more andd more places with stories for me to tell. Here you will find an alphabetical list of some of my more developed worlds. Worlds will eventually get their own pages as I make more detailed information about them available. More detailed information will probably become available when something from that world is published, and not before. For now, live with this short list.
Also, I fully acknowledge that the following descriptions are fairly informal. When I go into more detail about worlds, I'll do my best to separate my opinions of the world and world-fact. I can't help it--I love these places so much!
In my mind, all these worlds span across limitless dimensions, alternate realities each with their own unique characteristics. There is, indeed, more than one Earth on this list, usually attached to some other world. Ymdimal is the space between these dimensions, a place through which adventurers can go from one world to another. The Multi-Dimensional Task Force makes sure that most of the worlds keep to themselves. (You'll likely learn more about the MDTF if ever you get to read about Kayla and Thundling.) More about Ymdimal later in the list. Just keep in mind that these worlds are sort of separate, but every now and then someone does cross from one to another.
Attinor is home of the Fall of the Bellringer project. It has its own unique Sister-Earth, and a long and complex history that may yeild many stories for me to write. Attinor is a place of dragons most of all. Even the wizards of Attinor's Sister-Earth are affected by the presence of those dragons, whether or not they realize Attinor exists. This setting was partially inspired by the fantasy art of the artist I know as VampirePrincess007.
This Earth is called "Black Castle Earth" because of Black Castle High School, where the first adventures in this setting came from. Well, the first lengthy adventures, anyway. I'm pretty sure that a story I wrote in third or fourth grade would fit very, very well in this setting. In the 1950s, a whole lot of elves made a mass exodus from their distant home world to Black Castle Earth to escape utter destruction. These refugees first came secretly, but then came out openly to ask the humans of Earth to accept them into Earth society. Pretty soon, magic-users of all types were coming out of the woodwork. All it took was those elves breaking the silence for the world to realize how real magic was. Forget human segregation--now humans had to cope with magical aliens. Fast-forward to Black Castle's present day, and there are magic schools where elves and humans with magic abilities can train for their chosen fields, as well as science schools for those without magic ability. Black Castle High School is one of those magic schools.
Ether-Earth came to be around the time of my first NaNoWriMo adventure in 2004. Here you will meet Spellcasters, Songstresses, and Artifact Warriors whose stories span from the time before known history up to modern day earth. The heroes of this world fight a battle against the Dark that whispers in the hearts of every human. It is a battle of principles as much as a battle of swords and magic.
As much as I keep trying to tell myself that Mirror-Side is not an Alice in Wonderland-type setting, it keeps telling me otherwise. I'm inches away from accepting the fact. Anyone on Wyld's Sister-Earth who knows the right words can pass through any mirror to Mirror-Side, where you can judge a book by its cover. (Sort of.) While Mirror-Side is mostly a place for children to play without worrying too much about danger, during my 2007 NaNoWriMo novel, a cruel and powerful wizard gets loose and takes over Mirror-Side, and it falls to Alaura to save her childhood playground--and her brother, if he's even still alive over there. There is occasionally overlap with Mirror-Side stories and Wyld stories because they stem from the same Earth.
Wyld is my first truly named fantasy world, which has been growing and developing since 1999 or 2000. It began with birds that become griffins and dragons, color-changing mice, and a clan of evil rats named after a certain evil test. Then came the dragons and tygers and the Phoenix. The stories and creatures and cultures have continued to build on each other to make an intersting and complex world, at least to me.
Wyld's Sister-Earth is home to the Vampire Wars project. The Phoenix Girl Chronicles spans between Wyld's Sister Earth and Wyld proper. Kayla and Thundling's adventures begin on Wyld and then continue through to all sorts of amazing fun worlds. Also notable, Mirror-Side touches Wyld's Sister-Earth. (And then there's Old Wyld...)
Ymdimal is the space between dimensions, but it's more than just a joining place. It is home to the Multi-Dimensional Task Force, an organization of Bweldians (Ymdimal natives) and world travelers who make it their duty to prevent dimensions from improper relations. Ymdimal also hosts the Worlds Academy, a school for amazing students from around the multiverse. There are other mysterious areas of Ymdimal that await exploration for those daring enough to live between.
